The Legacy of Playway Academy
Established On Integrity and Dedication
Playway Academy, an outstanding private primary and junior high institution, opened its gates for pupils in January 1995. It operates on a clean, well-apportioned one-acre plot of land situated at Kahawa Wendani, Githurai Municipality within Kiambu County, Kenya.The institution was launched by two exceptional, certified professional teachers whose guiding desire and lifelong dream was to establish a high-quality contribution towards the academic and civic development of local learners.In the year 2001, Playway Academy presented its first candidates for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE). The performance was remarkable, instantly positioning the academy among the finest in Githurai and Kiambu. Our alumni from those pioneering years, and throughout our long history, are today active professionals in every sector of Kenyan society.

Milestones of Academic Excellence
Jan 1995
Academy Gates Opened
Playway Academy was built on a spacious one-acre plot in raw Kahawa Wendani by two passionate professional educators. The goal was to provide exemplary development paths for local youth.
2001
KCPE Academic Breakthrough & Music Starts
Presented our first candidates for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE). Candidates achieved outstanding national score ratings, alongside regional trophies in choral clubs and sports leagues.
2022
Successful KPSEA Transition
Phased out standard 8-4-4 elements in accordance with Kenya Education Standards. Pioneered our first KPSEA candidates assessment cohort with top tier student feedback files.
2026
Junior Secondary pioneering KJSEA Cohort
Now prepared to present our pioneering Grade 9 students for the inaugural Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA), supported by modern digital suites and fully functional laboratories.
