Early Child Growth and Play-Based Competencies

For our youngest learners in Pre-Primary (PP1 & PP2), we focus on establishing positive school associations. Our classrooms are cozy, child-safe learning ecosystems designed to foster motor skills, social connection, and core numeric and verbal skills.
We maintain a highly safe student-to-teacher ratio inside PP classes to monitor personal sanitation, cognitive growth, and basic interactive safety.

Interactive play arenas: Soft, secure materials designed to boost physical dexterity.
Basic Language & Numeric fun: Storytelling, music, puppet-shows, and basic math blocks.
Character grooming metrics: Teaching shared play, conflict resolution, respect, and hygiene.

KPSEA PIONEERS • SUCCESS SUSTAINED

Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA)

Playway Academy phased out standard 8-4-4 elements in accordance with national directives. Our pioneer set of candidates took the inaugural KPSEA in 2022 with spectacular success, sustaining our heritage first founded in our legendary 2001 KCPE results.

Under the Competence Based Education framework, primary level learners (Grades 1 through 6) acquire comprehensive tracking metrics. Instead of depending entirely on a single end-of-primary exam, our educators utilize portfolio trackers that evaluate ongoing comprehension, values integration, and talent identification.

Continuous Formative Portfolios: Encourages improvement over raw testing anxiety.
Community service projects: Promoting environmental stewardship and local civic pride.
Talent focus pathways: Recognizing music, soccer, robotics, and creative arts early.

Preparing for Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) 2026

Playway Academy JSS wing provides Grade 7, 8 and 9 learners with interactive pathways and deep knowledge streams which prepare them directly for global pathways and the milestone KJSEA assessments starting late 2026.

We have fully equipped our school laboratories on our Kahawa Wendani plot with modern microscopes, chemistry stations, computer systems, and pre-technical workshop toolkits to promote real hands-on actualization.

Full Laboratories Setup: Dedicated Biology, Physics & Chemistry stations.
Pre-Technical and Agriculture studies: Focused on sustainable Kenyan soil skills.
Creative Arts & Design tracks: Enhancing musical, poetic and structural arts.

Science & Technology

Learners engage in diagnostic science drills, biology models, and basic gardening experiments on our physical 1-acre campus plot.

Creative & Performing Arts

A core pinnacle of Playway Academy since our 2001 historic breakout. Training students in vocal mechanics, instruments, and acting.

Computing and Digital Literacy

Smart tools instruction in our commissioned Githurai-district ICT suite. Instructs children in browsing, slides compilation, and logical thinking.

Science & Technology

Co-Curricular Activities

At Playway Academy, learning goes beyond the classroom. Our co-curricular activities give every child the opportunity to explore their interests, discover their talents, build confidence, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment. Through sports, music, creative arts, clubs, and other engaging activities, learners develop teamwork, leadership, creativity, and social skills that contribute to their all-round growth and development.
